Wellbeing choices for youBoth

We are deeply intertwined and connected to our companion pets and how we feel reflects on them and vice a versa. Many a times an owner who is highly anxious will say they need help because their companion is anxious. My immediate question is “How long will that help for if you don’t look after yourself too?” Stress manifests in to disease and I know divorce grief and trauma can make our animals ill. One session each is better than just two sessions for the pet. We need to learn that we are just as important on our animals and if we cannot care for ourselves then we cannot care for them. We prioritize them over us all the time. I, despite slipped disks and severe back problems, would take the pain and carry my dog when needed regardless of my own health, until I got smart and realized dog prams exist! I would be in pain for days afterwards but would pay for her to have her back cracked and not have enough for my osteopath too. How funny we owners can be! If we look after in combination then the results are amazing and lead to better health for us all.

Many behavior issues have a root cause and finding it is the hardest part. Whether it be physical or psychological or in response to something we, another family member, or pet are doing around the home we can find the root cause.
